Rules & General Information
1. Entry Fee is $25 per class unless otherwise noted. Non refundable office fee $10. Grounds fee of $20 per horse.
2. Horse Park members receive $10 discount. A valid membership card is required to receive discount.
3. Back number required for all horses. Non-competing horses $25 schooling fee.
4. Proof of negative Coggins required within 2 years of show date for horses from NJ. Coggins within 1 year of show date for out of state horses.
5. Proof of flu/rhino vaccine within the season.
6. Show is held rain or shine!
7. Martingales are not permitted in under saddle classes.
8. Heeled boots and ASTM certified helmet required whenever mounted. EVERYONE UNDER 18 MUST WEAR A HELMET IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN ANY CLASS, INCLUDING WESTERN DIVISIONS.
9. The Horse Park of New Jersey, its owners, operators, employees, and other entities will not be responsible for damage, injury, or loss to any person, animal or property of exhibitors or spectators occurring at this show.
10. Dogs must be on a leash. $20 NO LEASH FINE
11. The Show Committee reserves the right to cancel, combine, change location or add any classes or schooling as deemed necessary
12. There is a $35 fee for each returned check.
13. Please use appropriate trash and manure containers.
14. Ribbons and ANY prizes WILL NOT be mailed.
15. Dry stalls available $45 per day. Bring your own shavings.
NOTE: Bring a friend who can volunteer all day and your stall is free. Bring your friend to the show office so we can give them an assignment.

Hunt Team Class
20. Hunt Team- Open to all. Fences height 2’3”. Teams to consist of 2 riders per team over simple set course. Ribbons 1-6
Hunter Derby Class
21. Hunter Derby. Open to all. One round. Riders must have entered into at least one other class at the selected fence height to participate in the derby. Show coat and tall dress boots required. The class will be judged at a 2’3” height and a 2’6” height combined. The 2’3” section will run after class 15, Low Hunter over fences. The 2’6” section will run after class 18 High Hunter Over Fences. One height selection per horse. Ribbons 1-6 awarded after class 19 High Hunter Under Saddle.
English Pleasure Division To be held in the West Ring

Important Dressage Rules
Any cross entries or special requests MUST be listed on your Dressage Entry form.
NOTE FOR STANDARDBRED: If you are competing in the 9 a.m. Standardbred Division please note this on your dressage registration so you will be scheduled appropriately.
Ride times are final at 12 pm on Friday, October 18th, 2024.
If you are cross entered, and there is a delay or change of time with your other class(es), please let the dressage secretary know, so that she can help you adjust your ride time.
ARRIVE EARLY!! Allow yourself enough time to check in with the secretary, tack up, warmup, and check in at the ring 5 minutes before your ride time. Remember, if you are not ready to ride at your schedule time, you forfeit your ride.
We want all horses and riders to enjoy the show and running the dressage portion of the Fun Show in a timely manner is paramount. Thank you!

Western Division
9:30 a.m. Start
Western Division Open to all Western Riders in Western tack. Beginner classes are shown at a walk/jog.
Open classes are shown at a walk/jog/lope. Beginner barrels and keyhole may jog/trot the pattern.
Western Pleasure classes are judged on the overall gaits of the horse. Horsemanship classes are judged on the equitation of the rider. There will be a pattern for each horsemanship class.

Trail Classes
All disciplines welcome! Held in the small warm up ring behind the stalls. Classes will run in order. Conflicts will be accommodated, but they must be communicated BEFORE classes start.
9:00 – 10:00 AM - Schooling
Schooling open to all riders/handlers for $5.00. Fee taken at ring.
10:00 AM – Start
Back numbers needed for judged classes. Participants will receive a voucher to present at the in gate.
Courses are judged on manner and willingness of equine, communication between equine and rider/handler, staying on course, correct execution of obstacles and horsemanship. Judge’s discretion for point accumulation/deductions with all decisions final. Three refusals per obstacle.
In-hand classes open to handlers of all ages and all types of equines – horse, pony donkey, mini, mule, etc.
Tiny Tots (10 and under) In-Hand Trail
Walk only. Adult may walk course with child to provide guidance, encouragement and course directions. Not hands-on assistance.
Easy In-Hand Trail
1. Walk and optional trot. Trot will score slightly higher than walk in designated areas.
Challenge In-Hand Trail
2. Walk and trot. Trot done correctly will score slightly higher than walk in designated areas.
Trail rider classes open to riders of all ages and equines appropriately sized to accommodate riders.
Lead Line Trail Rider
3. On or off lead. Walk only. Off lead adult is permitted to join child inside course to give encouragement and course direction only.
Easy Trail Rider Class
4. Walk and trot only. Trot done correctly will score slightly higher than walk in designated areas.
Challenge Trail Rider Class
5. Walk, trot and optional canter. Canter done correctly will score slightly higher than trot in designated areas.
Order of riders will be determined by gate steward.
